Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has wrote a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) enunciating details of the riots and prevailing law and order situation in Punjab.
He addressed the Chief Election Commissioner, Sikander Sultan Raja that he along with his team are ready to brief the commission members about the current law and order situation of the province and steps being taken by the government in this regard.
The chief minister also apprised the head of the election watchdog saying “We have witnessed violence and bloodshed by antisocial elements in the entire country and especially Punjab in last few days”.
He said that many important government buildings were targeted, attacked, and set ablaze. “These violent incidents not only caused huge financial loss to public and private property but also many law enforcement agencies personnel were seriously injured in protecting life and property of people, he explained.
Mohsin Naqvi also vowed that the Punjab government is committed to adopting all measures to avert any such future misadventure by the antisocial elements.
