PTI takes U-turn, seeks US intervention for Khan’s release
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leadership has taken its own u-turn by turning to influential Western ambassadors and the US administration for Imran Khan’s release from Attock jail.
According to a The Nation report, credible sources have claimed PTI Vice Chairman and former foreign minister, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi held “another breakfast meeting” with US Ambassador Donald Blome at the residence of the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan.

Also present at the meeting was Jane Marriott, British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Leslie Scanlon, Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Riina Kionka, EU Ambassador to Pakistan, Albert Iisaas, Norwegian Ambassador to Pakistan, and Indonesian Ambassador, Adam Tugio.

The sources have further claimed that Senator Ali Zafar accompanied Qureshi in the meeting. During the meeting, the PTI Vice Chairman briefed the diplomatic community about the conditions in which Imran Khan is being kept, in Attock prison. Furthermore, the team addressed the cipher issue with Ambassador Blome and the case registration against Khan.
The PTI leadership has urged ambassadors to play a significant role in saving Khan.
