The people and Government of Pakistan have expressed their profound condolences and unwavering support for the Kingdom of Morocco in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake that struck the country, leaving a trail of destruction and loss of life.

The earthquake, measuring a magnitude of 6.8, struck central Morocco, resulting in a tragic loss of lives, injuries, and extensive damage to infrastructure. According to Moroccan state media, the earthquake has claimed at least 820 lives and left 672 individuals injured.

In a press statement issued on Saturday, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced Pakistan’s solidarity with Morocco and extended heartfelt sympathies. She also revealed that Pakistan had offered its assistance to Morocco during this difficult time.

The Pakistan Embassy in Rabat has been proactive in reaching out to the Pakistani community residing in Morocco to ensure their safety. Initial reports indicate that all Pakistani nationals are safe, but the embassy will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide support as necessary.
