Veteran politician and PML-N Senator, Rana Maqbool Ahmed, has passed away. Rana Maqbool had previously served as the Inspector General of Sindh police and was among the co-accused in the airplane conspiracy case.

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed their condolences to Rana Maqbool’s family.

Senator Maqbool had been unwell for some time and was elected as a senator from Punjab in March 2018. He also held the position of Chairman of a Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat and was a member of several other important committees.

Additionally, Rana Maqbool had served as the Inspector General of Sindh police. PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif expressed his grief over Rana Maqbool’s passing and extended his condolences to the family.
