Pakistan and Iran have agreed to explore opportunities to further promote bilateral relations.
This understanding reached during a meeting between the Caretaker Minister of Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi and Tehran’s envoy in Islamabad Reza Amiri Moghaddam in Islamabad today.
During the meeting, various important issues were discussed including cooperation in the fields of media, exchange of cultural delegations, bilateral trade and Iran Expo 2024. It was emphasized that mutual cooperation in trade and economic sectors especially in the scope of Economic Cooperation Organization, corridor from East to West, bilateral cooperation on the ports of both the countries and expansion of relations between Tehran and Islamabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Murtaza Solangi said that Pakistan values brotherly relations with Iran. He said both the countries are bound by deep religious, cultural and linguistic ties. He said Pakistan is keen to promote cooperation with Iran in the fields of film and media.
The Minister further said that Memorandum of Understanding has already been signed between the APP and Iran’s national news agency IRNA. He said that work is in progress between Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority. He added that Iran’s Audio Visual Media Regulatory Authority, Pakistan Television and Iran’s audiovisual and Cinema sector have also worked to sign a MoUs to promote cooperation.
