SCO Summit | Prime Ministers of which countries are coming to Pakistan?

In addition to the Prime Ministers of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the First Vice President of Iran and the Foreign Minister of India will represent their countries.

The Prime Minister of China Li Qiang will represent his country. The Prime Minister of Mongolia, as an observer state, and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will also participate in the meeting as special guests.

During the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, the heads of states will discuss cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, environment and socio-cultural relations as well as reviewing the performance of the organization. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also hold important bilateral meetings with the heads of the visiting delegations on the occasion of the summit.

Foreign delegations have started arriving in Pakistan to participate in the SCO summit and in this regard, a 4-member official delegation of India has reached Pakistan, a 76-member delegation from Russia and a 15-member delegation from China have also arrived in Islamabad to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting. A 4-member delegation from Kyrgyzstan and a 2-member delegation from Iran have also reached Islamabad, while 7 representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization have also reached Pakistan.

The SCO Summit will be held in Islamabad on October 15 and 16, hosted by Pakistan. The 23rd meeting will be chaired by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif at Jinnah Convention Center. Heads and high-level delegations of China, Russia, India, Central Asian states and other member states will participate in this meeting which is of great diplomatic importance for Pakistan, as it will discuss the important issues of the region, including economic development, security cooperation and regional stability issues.

In view of the importance of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), extraordinary security measures have been taken in Islamabad. Security will be on high alert during this conference, road patrols, check posts at entrances and exits, and security cameras have been installed at important places so that any untoward situation can be dealt with in a timely manner. India’s participation in this conference has also become a center of attention at the global level, because there has been tension in the relations between the two countries in recent years.
