After an explosion earlier this week in Balochistan, Pakistani forces have detained a large number of Afghans.

Local officials in Kandahar report that over the past two days, Pakistan has deported more than 100 Afghans after arresting them.

Habibullah, the head of a temporary refugee camp in Takhta Pul district of Kandahar, stated:
“Following the explosion in Balochistan or any other security incident, Afghans are arrested. Even Afghans with legal documents are detained and face violence. Over the past month, more than 350 Afghan detainees have been handed over to us. All of them were tortured, their valuable belongings were confiscated, and they were imprisoned.”

Meanwhile, these Afghans claim that Pakistani forces tortured them and their children during interrogations.

Afghans released from Pakistani prisons allege that during security incidents, Pakistani forces arrest and imprison Afghans without any charges.

Nasrullah, a 27-year-old from Takhar province, said he was mistreated during his detention and imprisonment by Pakistani forces. He said: “In Pakistan, after being detained, we were taken to a military center where various forms of torture were inflicted upon us. They took our valuables. Conditions in Pakistan were extremely difficult for Afghans.”

“Our request is for Pakistan to treat Afghans humanely. They should not torture them during detention or treat them like animals. After detaining us, 115 people were crammed into a single vehicle and sent to Afghanistan. Is this humane?” said Asadullah, also deported from Pakistan.

Some other Afghans released from Pakistani prisons claimed that Pakistani forces detained their children along with them and, during searches, not only tortured them but also fired at them.

“After being arrested, we were taken to a checkpoint. There, at 3 a.m., they woke us up from sleep, beat us, and then fired at us. We faced various problems during the investigations,” said Abdullah, deported from Pakistan.

According to officials, in recent months, forced deportations of Afghan migrants have increased not only from Pakistan but also from Iran, with the Islamic Emirate providing assistance to them in various areas.
