Mirwaiz pays glowing tribute to Allama Iqbal

Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid rich tribute to the Poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal on his 87th death anniversary, describing him as one of the greatest thinkers and visionaries of the modern Muslim world.

In his message issued in Srinagar, Mirwaiz said that Allama Iqbal’s message, rooted deeply in the philosophical essence of the Holy Qur’an, remains an enduring source of inspiration not just for the people of the subcontinent but for the entire world.

He said Iqbal’s philosophy is anchored in unwavering faith in Allah and the awakening of self-awareness — Khudi — a concept that encourages inner strength, moral courage, and spiritual elevation.
