‘Zhengzhou Consensus’, released as a key document of SCO Media and Think Tank Summit, urged media and think tanks to play more proactive role in promoting people to people contacts, contributing wisdom and strength towards advancing peace, stability, prosperity and development both regionally and globally.
In the consensus, the representatives also called for joint efforts to gather wisdom and strength of multiple entities such as governments, businesses, academic institutions and the civil society to advance inclusive coexistence of different civilizations and deepen mutual understanding and affinity among people of all countries.
Over four hundred representatives from media outlets and international and regional organisations from SCO member states and dialogue partners attended SCO Media and Think Tank Summit in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province of China.
The delegation from Pakistan also includes Director General of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Saeed Ahmed Shaikh.
This Summit, held under the auspices of State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China and jointly hosted by Xinhua News Agency, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and People’s Government of Henan Province, is being considered as a prelude to 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of States of SCO, that is likely to take place in China from 31st August 2025.
