In a significant development in the Arabian Sea, India and Pakistan are scheduled to conduct separate naval exercises on August 11-12 near each other’s maritime zones.
The exercises, positioned approximately 60 nautical miles from each other, underscore the heightened naval presence and strategic posturing between the two nations.
Both the naval forces have also issued separate notifications for firing exercises in the Arabian Sea next week.
According to the notification issued, the Indian Navy will conduct its maritime drills from August 11 to 12 off the coast of Porbandar and Okha in Gujarat.
While such military drills are routine for both nations, the timing and proximity of these exercises have drawn attention amid the soaring tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad.
