Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited Pakistan TV Digital and inaugurated English Channel.
On this occasion, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Information Secretary Ambreen Jan and other senior officials were present.
The Prime Minister also visited various sections of the new channel and interacted with the young professionals working there.
He praised their enthusiasm and stated that their role in the fight against external narrative is very important.
Shehbaz Sharif said the primary objective of launching this digital channel is to provide an effective response to misrepresentation and propaganda about Pakistan by consistently providing authentic news.
The Prime Minister also recorded his first interview for Pakistan TV Digital broadcasts.
At the inauguration, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar briefed the Prime Minister about the goals and objectives of Pakistan TV Digital.
He stated that Pakistan TV Digital will serve as a proactive and credible voice for Pakistan to the global audience, bridge the information gap and act as a public diplomacy platform in English language.
It will counter the one-sided narrative prevalent in Western and Indian-influenced regional media.
