KARACHI – October 4, 2025: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed firm action against parents refusing to vaccinate their children against polio, terming the refusal a serious threat to public health and the country’s global image.
Chairing a high-level meeting on polio eradication at the CM House on Friday, Shah said that the government could no longer remain lenient with those neglecting this national duty. He announced the creation of a “Polio Vaccine Denial Cell” at the Chief Minister’s House to monitor refusal cases and take necessary measures.

The Sindh CM stressed that polio eradication is a collective responsibility, and refusal to cooperate not only endangers children but also undermines Pakistan’s efforts to completely eliminate the virus.
Officials at the meeting briefed him on vaccination drives, highlighting both progress and challenges. Shah reiterated his government’s commitment to ending polio once and for all, while calling on citizens to support frontline health workers.
