National command & Operation Centre shares update for COVID-19 situation in Pakistan.
COVID-19 Update upto 2359 hours 17 April
Total Active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan has reached 5,506 with 465 new cases.
A total of 7,481 cases detected so far with AJK 48, Balochistan 335, Gilgit-Baltistan 250, ICT 163, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,077, Punjab 3,391, and Sindh 2,217.
So far 1,832 patients have recovered. Latest death toll is reported as 143 deaths. 8 new on the 17th of April. This brings the death toll as follows:
- Sindh: 47
- Punjab: 37
- KP: 50
- ICT: 1
- Balochistan: 5
- GB: 3
41 patients are being reported as critical.
As confirmed by the National Command & Operation Centre 92,584 tests have been conducted. 6,416 tests conducted on the 17th of April.
Local transmission is 62% and foreign travel 38%
It is to be noted that 589 hospitals with COVID facilities are treating 1,881 patients admitted across the country while 540 quarantine facilities are currently housing 19,409 people.
