Distribution of ration to Pakistani-Hindu immigrant families in Delhi

New Delhi: Sri Guru Singh Sabha Pahariwala today granted humanitarian aid to 1000 Pakistani Hindu refugees living in Delhi at Majnu Ka Tila Camp.

On 29th April, Government of Delhi had officially requested and communicated to the gurdwara to provide urgent assistance for the refugees who have migrated from Pakistan and are in distress.

The Gurdwara located at Greater Kailash Part 1, New Delhi is already active in various humanitarian efforts since the breakout of COVID-19 epidemic in India and is currently feeding and providing aid to approximately 5000 persons daily irrespective of any caste or creed. The relief operations are being supervised and coordinated by Manjit Singh GK, former president of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.

“Sikhs all across the globe are actively involved in helping people in distress and it is an honor for us to serve the mankind. Pradeep Tayal, Sub Divisional Magistrate of Government of NCT of Delhi requested us for help and our management committee warmly agreed for helping the Pakistani nationals who have taken refuge in Delhi and we will always continue to provide any needy person of any religion” said Swaran Singh Bhandari, President of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Pahariwala.

Th aid includes food and essential supplies such Face Mask, Food-grains, Oil , Pulses, Tea and Sanitizers for each person. The supplies were handed over by the gurdwara officials to the Central Delhi District Disaster Management Authority officials earlier today. Swaran Singh Bhandari Balbir Singh Kohli, Gulshanbir Singh, Harjit Singh GK and along with other gurdwara volunteers were present on the occasion and Vijay Kumar, Tehsildar Civil Lines received the aid on behalf of Government of NCT of Delhi for further distribution to the refugees in their respective camps.
