Public demands PEMRA to ban TV personality for spreading religious hatred

Lahore: For attempts to spread religious hatred on the TV channel, social media users have demanded a ban on Amir Liaquat.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, the social media users in Pakistan have demanded a ban against Amir Liaqat citing reasons of attempting to spread religious hatred on television.
One user tweeted that if Liaqat had a conscience he would die due to his “disputed existence”.

According to the details, due to the recent behavior of Amir Liaquat the public of Pakistan, is raising their voices from all over the country. There has become a regular trend on Twitter specifically catered to the demand, in which people are recording their protest towards PEMRA in different ways that Amir Liaquat Hussain should be banned for a month for spreading religious hatred on the channel.

It should be noted that a few years ago, Aamir Liaquat tried to spread religious hatred against certain clerics who had appeared on his ramadan show broadcast on Bol TV. Reportedly, Liaqat left the program in in response to a question in the program before Iftar.

It may be recalled that Aamir Liaquat had earlier been banned by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) for broadcasting hate speech in January of last year.

As a result of his actions in the recent ramadan transmission where he poked fun at the late Bollywood actors, Sri Devi and Irrfan Khan, as well as the earlier shenanigan in the Bol TV transmission people’s emotions had been hurt. In an attempt to spread religious hatred by PEMRA, Aamir Liaquat was banned for one month, and instructions were issued that Liaquat could not appear in any program on Bol TV. However, other channels also did not invite him as a guest in their programs.
