London: The trial of Altaf Hussain’s close associate has started in London. An important development regarding the future of Imran Farooq’s widow and children. According to reports, legal action has been initiated against Mustafa Azizabadi, a close associate of MQM founder Altaf Hussain, for a key case.
According to Murtaza Ali Shah, Associate Resident Editor, The News International, London, the case is related to the property of Witch Church Lane in London, in which former MQM finance secretary Tariq Mir is the widow of MQM leader Dr Imran Farooq. And her two sons want to give her this London residence to live there.
According to sources, former finance secretary MQM Tariq Mir not only wants to take back the residence but also wants to receive 25 25,000 from Mir Mustafa Azizabadi. It is also said that Tariq Miras is involved in the case as the custodian of the house.
It is also learned that Muhammad Anwar, a key founding leader of MQM, is also a shareholder in this property. The legal notice states that Mustafa Azizi should vacate 221-A White Church Lane, Eggware, HA8 6QT and also pay the arrears of 25 25,000, otherwise Mustafa Azizi will be completely indifferent after the court decision.
It may also be recalled that in London, former MQM MPA Sufyan Yousaf and his family have occupied the upper floor of Church Lane at 221. In this regard, Tariq Mir has approached the Barnett County Court to release Azizabadi for eviction after a trial. A date for the hearing of this case will be fixed soon under which the case will be decided after hearing of both the parties.
Sources said that Tariq Mir has decided to go to court after all conciliation efforts failed. Tariq Mir had demanded that Shumaila Imran Farooq, widow of former MQM leader Dr Imran Farooq, be housed on the ground floor, which was ignored.
Shumaila Imran is currently living in a dilapidated building with her two sons, Alishan and Vijjan. According to sources close to Tariq Mir, the MQM has rejected the intervention. Sources say that in 2004, two properties on Witch Church Lane – 221 and 185 – were purchased in the names of Tariq Mir and Muhammad Anwar, who were considered the closest financial and political aides to Altaf Hussain, respectively.
According to Murtaza Ali Shah, a senior journalist from London, the total value of these properties is 1.5 million. It is also learned that the founder of MQM has changed his mind about Tariq Mir and Mohammad Anwar, and now he is not ready to accept the decisions of these two leaders under any circumstances.
On the other hand, Tariq Meera and Mohammad Anwar say that these properties belong to ordinary workers, martyrs and MQM workers.
