ISLAMABAD: The federal government has taken back control of three major hospitals in Karachi and one in Lahore from the province.
These hospitals include Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore and Jinnah Hospital, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), National Institute of Child Health (NICH) Karachi. No new recruitment will be allowed in these hospitals.
According to the Federal Ministry of National Health, control of three major hospitals in Karachi and one in Lahore has been handed over to the federation.

A letter was written to the heads of hospitals by the Joint Secretary, Ministry of National Health. The letter has been written to Jinnah Hospital, NICVD and NICH Karachi. The letter has also been written to the management of Sheikh Zayed Post Graduate Medical Institute. The text of the letter informed the provinces that no new recruitment will be allowed in these hospitals.
No machinery or equipment of any kind will be transferred from the said hospitals.

All details of hospitals should be sent to the Federal Ministry of National Health. On the other hand, the coronavirus sounded the alarm in Karachi. Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has released the statistics of funerals in cemeteries.
According to the KMC, more than 1,300 deaths were reported from June 1 to June 10, compared to 2,375 deaths in the 30 days of June last year. According to KMC officials, the death toll in Karachi has risen by 40 per cent, the situation has worsened since 10th Ramadan, while the total number of cemeteries in Karachi are 208.
