Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron has announced an end to the nationwide lockdown.

According to foreign media, the French president, while announcing the end of the lockdown across the country, said that all citizens can return to work, restaurants and cafes will also be allowed to reopen from today.

France has also allowed its citizens to travel to other European countries, and from today, several other European countries have opened their borders to the movement of people.

In his televised address, Emmanuel Macron said: “France has won its first victory against the corona virus. We are going to turn the page against the corona epidemic all over the country.”

He said that schools would be reopened from June 22, but high schools would not be reopened.

It should be noted that the European Commission had encouraged the opening of all external borders from today. Only a few countries have announced the opening of borders. Belgium, Croatia, Switzerland and Germany have fully opened their borders from today. The Czech Republic has allowed travel to 26 states, but Belgium, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom remain banned.
