Prime Minister allows national cricket team to tour England

Prime Minister Imran Khan has allowed the national cricket team to tour England during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Prime Minister gave permission for the visit in a meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani today.

According to sources, while talking to the Chairman PCB, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that all sports activities including cricket would be suspended due to Corona. He added that cricket is in the blood of Pakistanis.

The Chairman PCB took the Prime Minister into confidence on the major changes in the Cricket Board and also briefed him on the financial affairs of the Board, domestic international cricket and other matters.

PCB Presents Requests to ECB Ahead of England Tour

The Prime Minister directed that the affairs of the cricket board should be run in a transparent manner and no one should be sacked from the PCB in the days of Corona.

It is to be noted that Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to visit England in July-August.The first test is to be played on July 30, but in the case of Corona, the schedule of the series is likely to be changed which is expected to be announced soon.

Pakistan’s 29-member squad for the tour of England has been announced.This includes 20 players in the Central Contract and Emerging categories.

Azhar Ali will be the captain of the test series during the tour of England while Babar Azam will be the captain of T20 team.
