TV Host Tariq Aziz passes away
Lahore, 17th June: According to the report of Baaghi TV, the famous compere of PTV, Tariq Aziz has passed away.
Tariq Aziz got fame from the PTV program ‘Neelaam Ghar’ and hosted the program for many years. Tariq Aziz also showed his acting skills in many films, he was a member of the National Assembly. Tariq Aziz was Pakistan’s first newscaster.

Tariq Aziz was born on April 28, 1936, in Jalandhar, India. He belonged to the Arai family of Jalandhar. His father Mian Abdul Aziz Pakistani immigrated to Pakistan in 1947. His father used to write Pakistani with his name ten years before it became Pakistan.

Tariq Aziz spent his childhood in Sahiwal and received his early education there. He then started his professional life with Radio Pakistan Lahore. When Pakistan Television came into being in 1964, Tariq Aziz was the first male announcer of PTV, but his stage show ‘Neelam Ghar’, launched in 1975, took him to the heights of fame. The program ran for several years and was later renamed the Bazm-e-Tariq Aziz Show.
Tariq Aziz was an all-round personality. He has acted in movies as well as radio and TV programs. His first film was ‘Insaniyat’ (1967) and his other famous films include Salgirah, Qasm UssWaqt Ke, Katari, Chirag Kahan Roshni Kahan, Har Gaya.
He has received many awards for his artistic services and was also awarded the Medal of Excellence by the Government of Pakistan in 1992.
Tariq Aziz also participated in politics and was elected a member of the National Assembly in 1997.
