Digital Pakistan Foundation Case
Tech entrepreneurs, corporate enterprises & journalists at large observed a clear case of conflict between DP & NITB, where National IT Board was chartered to conceive & execute eGovernance projects and transform digital landscape of Federal government. Digital Pakistan on the other hand led by Tania Aidrus, which never presented any charter or any framework of operations, confusing the industry continuously with no focus and responsibility.

Is DP there to market Digital economy of Pakistan, is it to market federal government’s technology initiatives or just take credit smartly of projects done by others using PM’s office. So far it is the latter that seems to be true as in the last 9 months of existence, Digital Pakistan hasn’t got any achievement to show except a few optics sitting in PM Office inaugurating something which they never built or promoting some startups which have hardly any significance.

Recently, Social media researchers have started investigating Digital Pakistan Foundation charter and operational practice. Some findings from their website:
(A) They have been alluring private sector companies by a narrative that they work hand in glove with “Federal Ministers” therefore they can get the projects done faster than anyone in the government. Hence, all funding, eGovernance related or any other faction, should come to Digital Pakistan Foundation.
(B) Website had conflicting information on ownership which is actually the jurisdiction of Ministry of IT and in fact covered under NITB’s 2019 Ordinance. Tech reporters specifically noticed that the ownership of eGovernance, Digital Skills and Connectivity was strangely claimed by Digital Pakistan where it’s the fundamental responsibility to Ministry of IT.
(C) This website was alive only until yesterday. When the researchers started asking tough questions from Tania Aidrus in context of conflict of interest, suddenly in a matter of minutes the website disappeared. The researchers closely following up the case took snapshots of the website which shows all the details how DP Foundation was being operated.
The Art of Conversation & Art of Argument in Digital World
A few days ago Social Media saw Digital Pakistan dropped into another major controversy which raised a lot of eye brows on their credibility and ulterior motives. Tania has been seeking assistance from Umar Saif, who introduced her to GATES Foundation, to generate $4-6M funding for Digital Pakistan Foundation. Be advised GATES Foundation funds those entities who in return funnel local data back to them. Since Umar Saif & Tania were working together, Tania “Used” to send an invitation to Umar Saif’s company SurveyAuto to present their technology solution (DSS). We also got to know that there was another solution already developed by NITB which was made to put on hold.

NCOC command was compelled to give Umer Saif a chance. He presented his solution which was flawed, sub-standard and got rejected. Since, Tania seeking funding through Umar Saif and rejection of his solution at NCOC level would mean end of partnership between the two, Tania used to publicly acknowledge SurveyAuto solution on Twitter (a failed solution which was never deployed anywhere). Umar Saif has been using that acknowledgement tweet since then to make the false claim that SurveyAuto technology is being used to create Smart Lockdown clusters.
