Wednesday, June 24th: Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), a Turkish state-run broadcaster, has launched a YouTube channel exclusively for Pakistani fans, in view of the huge popularity of its urban drama Ertugrul Ghazi in Pakistan.

Under a special agreement between TRT and Pakistan Television (PTV), Ertugrul Ghazi was dubbed in Urdu on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan and aired on state TV (PTV) from the first of Ramadan. The drama which is being aired has made many records in Pakistan, of which it has become the most watched drama on YouTube.

Ertugrul Ghazi’s story is based on the pre-13th century Turkish warrior Ertugrul Ghazi’s wars with the Crusaders, also known as the Islamic Conquests and Turkey’s Game of Thrones. Showbiz has also captivated celebrities who have never been part of a Turkish drama before its popularity in Pakistan.

Following the great popularity of Ertugrul Ghazi, TRT has introduced a special channel on YouTube in view of the popularity of Turkish dramas among Pakistani fans, in which popular dramas are being uploaded with Urdu subtitles.
