Rome: A bear has been sentenced to death in Italy. According to reports, we have heard that if a person harms an animal, he is punished. But have you ever heard of an animal being punished for harming a human?
According to a foreign news agency, a 28-year-old boy and his father were suddenly attacked by a bear on the way to Mount Pillar in the northern region of Trentino, Italy. Both men were injured due to the sudden attack by the bear.
Following the incident, the father and son were charged with assault and the bear was sentenced to death in light of DNA evidence.
International animal organizations have called on authorities to withdraw the sentence. Following the attack, the governor of Trentino signed into a law of punishing the bear.
