Bahria Town announces PhD program for Pakistani students

Sunday, July 5th: Bahria Town founder Malik Riaz has announced a PhD support program for Pakistani students.

Under this program, 25 students from five universities of Pakistan will be sent abroad for PhD every year at the expense of Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial Trust Bahria Town. Malik Riaz of Bahria Town told Geo News that this year 25 students will be sent abroad for PhD for which 200 universities around the world have been contacted.

According to Malik Riaz, initially students from NED University Karachi, University of Engineering Lahore, Punjab University Lahore, University of Peshawar and Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad have been selected.

Selected students will be able to pursue a PhD in science and technology from abroad. Upon completion of the PhD, a bond will be signed with Pakistani students, under which Pakistani students will be obliged to return home and serve the country.

Malik Riaz said that this project is being started under Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial Trust.
