Islamabad, 23rd July 2020: The government of Pakistan has announced the holidays for the Eid-ul-Adha this year.

The federal government has decided to give three holidays on Eid-ul-Adha from July 31 to August 2. The holidays will be given from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

It is to be noted that the Central Route Hilal Committee had announced that the first Dhul-Hijjah would take place on July 23 while Eid-ul-Adha would be celebrated on Saturday, August 1.

On Eid-ul-Adha, the government has directed the people to take precautionary measures by fully implementing SOPs to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country. An awareness campaign should also be launched on guidelines for the prevention of epidemics among the people.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Arif Alvi regarding the implementation of security measures related to Corona during Eid-ul-Adha.

President Arif Alvi said that all stakeholders, including the Ulema and the provincial governments, should be taken into confidence, people should maintain social distance and make collective sacrifices to avoid the virus.

The media should create awareness among the people about safety precautions and going to the cattle markets.
