Saudi King Salman undergoes a major surgery

Riyadh, 23rd July 2020: Saudi Arabia’s 84-year-old ruler, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, underwent a successful operation today.

According to the state news agency SPA, King Salman underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder on Thursday, after he was admitted to hospital this week.

According to doctors, Shah Salman will remain in the hospital for some time. The King was admitted to King Faisal Hospital in Riyadh three days ago due to address problems.

Saudi King Salman announces major relief

He has since chaired a cabinet meeting via video call from the hospital on Tuesday and could be seen in a video behind a desk, reading and leafing through documents.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz has been the King of Saudi Arabia since 2015. King Salman was crown prince and deputy premier for over 2-1/2 years from June 2012 before becoming king.

King Shah Salman seriously ill

He also served as governor of the Riyadh region for more than 50 years. In addition, Shah Salman has been the Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia.

Muhammad bin Salman, the 34-year-old son of King Salman and Saudi Crown Prince, is considered the country’s most powerful figure who has introduced a number of reforms in Saudi Arabia.
