Abu Dhabi: Police have once again warned citizens that they will be fined 3,000 dirhams for not wearing masks in public places and crowds.

According to the Emirati media, the police have said in an unequivocal message that people must use face masks when going out of their houses, and must cover their mouths and especially their noses.

Police have made it clear that there will be fines for not wearing masks in public places and crowds and excuses for keeping one’s mouth open in any way, including smoking in public places, will not be acceptable.

Police say mobile teams are on high alert to ensure compliance with government directives and measures, as well as SOPs to maintain precautionary measures.

Officials say it was revealed last month that police had only released citizens violating the Corona SOPs with a warning, but now police have been instructed to impose fines to deal with it.
