President K2 Kings Tourists Association of Pakistan, Ali Ahmad Tahir, today requests the government to take some measures to protect the treasure of National Archaeology, expected to be submerge in the water after construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam.
According to the details of Baaghi TV, ancient Archaeology of the Indus Valley Civilization is a major portion of the Pakistani tourism. Ahmad Hasan Dani, also known as the Father of Archaeology, had spent most of his life in discovering the rocks. Moreover, his research on the scripts and drawings are internationally renowned and many tourists visit Pakistan in inspiration of his research.
President Tourists Association quoted statement of Professor Harald Hauptmann who worked in Pakistan as consultant preservation of rocks carving and painting that the Diamer-Bhasha dam is likely to “inundate 95 archaeological sites, including 75 rock art assemblages comprising 5,759 engraved rock faces and boulders covered with 37, 116 petroglyphs, among them the remarkable amount of 3,618 inscriptions”
that 95 archaeology sites will submerge into water.
Ali Ahmad Tahir requests the government that it steps to protect these rocks are not taken, tourism will suffer irreparable damage.
