PM Forms NCC to Facilitate Overall Development of SMEs in Pakistan

Islamabad August 12 (Online Int’l): In order to grow SME activities in the country, Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a National Coordination Committee.

The 14-member committee headed by Federal Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar is responsible to coordinate and facilitate the government’s policy objective of promoting overall development of SMEs in the country and sustain economic activity, employment generation and poverty alleviation.

The PM Office spokesperson said the committee along with formulating a policy to grow small and medium business in the country will give recommendations which will be helpful to generate economic activity in the country.

The Chairman Committee has power to add new members from the government or private sector in the committee when needed. The committee meeting will be held in the Ministry of Industries and Production Office.

The committee  is responsible to formulate SMEs policy within two weeks, elaborate the policy sections, recommend incentives for small and medium business, look after issues related to SMEs, and recommendations to ease provision of loan for small and medium business in the country.
