ISLAMABAD, August 13 (Online Int’l): The Election Commission of Pakistan has started to review the electoral lists before conducting a nationwide municipal election. 3 million new voters will be included in the electoral lists and a voter awareness campaign will soon be started nationwide.
According to Election Commission’s spokesperson the process to review the electoral list before the upcoming nationwide municipal election has started. Nationwide Election Commission’s offices, registration officers and assistant registration officers including voter registration, can transfer vote to a new address and correct it.
According to the Commission the review of electoral lists will continue till the announcement of the municipal elections schedule and right after the schedule’s announcement it will stop temporarily. According to Commission the reviewed lists of all the districts will be published on September 16 2020. The Commission has decided to start the voter awareness campaign to inform the public about the importance of registering the vote.
