ISLAMABAD, August 18 (Online): Decision has been taken to open cases of illegal occupation of state land against Ghouri town pending with FIA, Police, district management, CDA and anti-corruption.
This step has been launched soon after the issuance of directives by the Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan for initiation of operation forthwith against the land mafia in the federal capital.
Chaudhry Usman new owner of Ghauri town and accused Chaudhry Abdul Rehman who is included in 4th schedule have started making efforts to avert this action.
Stunning revelations have also come to open amid the reports of action that a ruling party MNA has demanded Rs 750 million from the owners of Ghauri town for quashment of cases against them.
Investors have warned Ghauri town administration in unequivocal terms that they should get clear the society legally forthwith otherwise it is feared that billions of rupees of the citizens will sink.
Sources said houses have been constructed on the illegally occupied land of Auqaf department and central government. Several cases are pending with FIA and Anti Corruption in this regard.
In order to dispel impression of illegal occupation of state land, Ghauri town administration has started plying several vehicles to launch free bus service in Ghauri town to restore the trust of the citizens. Water is being supplied through tankers free of cost to the residents as well.
The citizens have demanded of the government to clear the matters of Ghauri town immediately as they have invested billions of rupees therein.
The old owners of Ghauri town have transferred the society to Chaudhry Usman for fear of cases.
The citizens said they will register the cases with SECP, FIA, Anti corruption, NAB and Police during the month of August against those who have minted money by illegally occupying the land allocated for grave yard, schools and grounds.
Credible sources said a ruling party MNA has demanded Rs 750 million from Ghauri Town owner for clearance of inquiry against them. However Ghauri town management has not reached any decision so far on this count.
The district management sources said information are being collected in respect of state and Auqaf department land illegally occupied in all phases of Ghauri town and soon the action will be initiated against land mafia.
When contacted Chaudhry Usman said he was the person who had first of all identified 2800 affectees in Ghauri Town and this pamphlet was distributed in Ghauri town. “ Now I am owner of the Ghauri town, therefore, no affectees are left more.
When asked as to why he was elevated from his position of surveyor to owner of Ghauri Town he replied it was their internal matter.
It may be mentioned Chaudhry Usman was surveyor in this society and he was employed to carry out marking of the plots for their identification.
The corruption magnitude in this society has allegedly swelled to Rs 17 billion.
