August, 24, 2020: An unusual decision of the umpire during the Women’s Super 50 series match in Ireland surprised everyone.
According to details, in the second innings of the match, the bowler appealed for a catch, but the umpire immediately declared it a wide ball. The batswoman had started walking back to the pavilion but stopped after he declared the ball as a wide delivery.
The players of the fielding team increased the pressure on the appeal for out but he stood by his decision. A few seconds later when the players started looking at each other in frustration, the umpire (after looking towards his fellow standing on square-leg position) suddenly reversed his decision and gave it out.

The umpire reversed the decision of wide-ball and declared it a catch-out, which surprised the batswoman and they kept looking around at the unexpected decision.
This is not a new case of change of decision by the on-field umpire, earlier, such incident was seen in the Big Bash Cricket League.
