Safety Items and Implementation of SOPs a Must to Protect Law Enforcers

Lahore August 26 (Online Int’l): Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir on Wednesday said the process of timely provision of safety items and the implementation of SOPs should continue to prevent law enforcers deputed on security of Muharram processions, from the COVID19 pandemic.

The police force should perform their duties during Muharram processions with full diligence, hard work, commitment and the spirit of faith.

The IGP further said that district police heads must ensure that safety equipments to police officers for COVID19 has been provided to officers and officials deputed on security on time and without any delay and also send a report in this regard.

As per the directions of Additional IG welfare and finance, a letter with respect to distribution of safety equipments has been sent to CCPO Lahore, all city police officers and DPOs, in which instructions have been given regarding provision of safety equipments like surgical masks, surgical gloves, coverall gowns, hand sanitisers and goggles.

According to the letter, it is stated that overall 13,300 gowns, 22,548 surgical masks and 16,950 surgical gloves, 1,795 liter sanitizers and 2,050 goggles have been provided to the police forces all over the province. In big districts like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala, coverall 800 gowns have been provided.
