According to the report of Baaghi TV, preparations have been completed for the operation against encroachments on Gujjar Nala in Quaid-e-Azam city. Teams of Pakistan Army and Rangers will also be involved in the operation.

According to reports, encroachments will be eliminated through grand operation at 12 places of the city, three at Gujjar Nalla, two at Lyari River, three at Orangi Nalla, two at Malir River and two at Mahmoodabad Nalla.

Authorities have divided the operation against encroachments on Gujjar Nalla into three phases. The first phase will be an operation against commercial encroachments, such as fences, shops and other encroachments. The third operation will be carried out on New Karachi Nalla.

Officials said that a simultaneous operation against encroachments would be carried out at three places accordingly. The operation would start from Cafe Pyala and demolish the encroachments up to Zia-ud-Din Hospital. Teams of Pakistan Army and Rangers will also be involved in the operation, as well as representatives of the city administration.

Relevant Deputy Commissioners will oversee the anti-encroachment campaign. Twelve excavators have also been called in for the grand operation. As with all excavations, Jack Hammer is a must. Thirty feet of space will be cleared on both sides of the canals during the operation, and temporary camps will be set up for those living on the encroachments.

On the other hand, the process of demolition of illegal structures has been started in Central District. According to the Deputy Commissioner Central District, the operation consists of two phases. The houses will be evacuated, the deputy commissioner added, adding that the residents will not be evicted. The second phase of the operation will be launched only after providing alternative accommodation to the residents.
