According to Baaghi TV, the number of rape cases in Punjab is on the rise but Punjab police have failed to nab the culprits. The Chief Minister of Punjab changes the IG every day, but he is only taking verbal notice of the repeated incidents of abuse of women.
The lives of schoolgirls, women and children are in danger when serious incidents such as theft, robbery and abuse come to light as such horrific incidents have become commonplace.The number of victims of abuse is of children and women and there have been some cases in which people have been killed after being raped. Instead of preventing incidents, the government is pursuing a ding-dong policy.
According to a report, there have been 77 incidents of gang rape in Punjab during the first six months of this year. Police failed to arrest 60% of the accused. According to police records, Gujranwala region topped the list with 30 cases of gang rape and 12 gang rape cases were reported in Faisalabad region.
According to the report, 9 cases of gang rape were registered in Multan region while 7 cases of gang rape took place in Lahore. In addition, 6 cases of gang rape in Dera Ghazi Khan region, 5 in Sheikhupura and Rawalpindi, 5 incidents were reported ,2 incidents of gang rape were reported in Bahawalpur and Sahiwal regions and one in Sargodha.
