February 24, 2021: The meeting was attended by Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood and Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shirin Mazari, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan also attended the meeting Uniform national curriculum must be ensured to end segregation in education sector. There is a need to focus on developing character building, critical and creative thinking in students.
For the socio-economic development of the country, quality and research based education must be given, said President Arif Ali.
The President was briefed on the preparation of uniform national curriculum A uniform national curriculum was developed in consultation with all federal units and relevant stakeholders, including the private sector, religious seminaries, briefing said.
Uniform national curriculum developed according to international standards for the educational needs of the country, briefing Uniform national curriculum designed in three phases, will be implemented in all fields of education. A new curriculum will be introduced for students in grades 1 to 5 during the 2021-22 academic year.
Has started preparing the syllabus for the second phase (6-8) and the third phase (9-10), briefing Uniform national curriculum will focus on Quran and Sunnah, constitution, national policies and national standards, briefing Sustainable development goals, views of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal and national values will also be taught.
