A nail biter between Qalandars and United

Lahore, 23rd Feb, 2020: Today the people of Lahore witnessed a very exciting match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

The Gaddafi Stadium was packed with Lahoris supporting their team and the Qalandars didn’t disappoint and scored 182 runs with the help of a masterpiece from Mohammad Hafeez, the veteran cricketer. Professor had a slow start but very quickly changed gear and made a contribution of 98 runs and was unfortunate for not achieving a splendid century.

The start of the second innings for Islamabad United was not as they would have wished for. Shaheen Shah Afridi got rid of their run machine Luke Ronchi and Hafeez got rid of another danger man Colin Monro.

Shadaab put up a brave act and promoted himself up the order, he had a shaky start but played a marvelous hand and completed his half a century.

Rest of the players chipped in, the inning had a lot of twists and turns. The spectators witnessed a nail biting contest.

In the end, Islamabad United got over the line with the help of the batting of their last pair Mohammad Musa and Ahmed Safi Ullah.

The captain of the winning team Shadaab Khan was declared the Man of the Match and was presented with the PSL 5 trophy and the cash prize of 4,500$.

Islamabad United has won two consecutive matches in the tournament up till now.
