A new variant of COVID-19 discovered in France

Lahore, 16th March: A new variant of the novel coronavirus has been discovered from France now.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, France has found a new coronavirus variant in the French region of Brittany, confirmed the French health ministry in a statement late Monday.

According to reports from Reuters, the health ministry’s statement read that initial analysis, however, did not show that this new variant was more serious or transmissible than others.

The French health ministry informed that the new variant had been found in a cluster of cases in a hospital centre in Lannion.

According to earlier reports, French President Emmanuel Macron had said France will stop administering Astra-Zeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine as a precaution pending a new assessment by the European Union’s medicines regulator.

A similar announcement was made by Germany and Italy regarding the Astra-Zeneca vaccine.
