The Hindutva government of the Bharatiya Janata Party in India is increasing pressure on the media, on one hand, to manipulate the media for its nefarious purposes, and on the other, taking its custody to promote its Hindutva agenda.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in this regard, AMG Media Networks, the media company of Adani Group, headed by Modi’s billionaire business friend Gautam Adani, has bought the news agency IANS after the television channel NDTV.
According to information given by Adani Group to the Mumbai Stock Exchange, AMG Media Networks Limited has acquired a 50.50 percent stake in IANS. The share purchase agreement between the two companies was signed on December 15 and the Board of Directors of IANS approved the transfer of shares on the same date. The annual turnover of IANS is over Rs 11.86 crore.
The information given to the stock market did not specify how much the deal is worth for IANS. The Adani Group bought the television channel, NDTV, at the end of last year.
It should be mentioned that Modi’s fascist government was resorting to false propaganda to achieve its nefarious goals, for which the Indian media is its main weapon. That is why most of the media organizations in India are owned by Hindu extremists and those organizations that are convinced of impartial and transparent journalism are either trying to silence them by covering up atrocities or are being forced to sell their organizations to Hindu extremists.
