A grand ceremony of change of command of the Chief of Naval Staff was held, at the Naval Headquarters PNS Zafar, which was attended by dignitaries including foreign ambassadors. The Pakistan Navy presented a Guard of Honor to the outgoing Chief, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi. Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi handed over the command of Pakistan Navy to Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi. Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has taken over as the 22nd Chief of the Pakistan Navy. Addressing the change of command ceremony, outgoing Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi congratulated the new Chief of Naval Staff, Amjad Niazi. Admiral Zafar Abbasi said that paying special attention to the professionalism of Pakistan Navy, 4 Chinese frigates will join Pakistan Navy in the next 2 years. PNS Yarmouk has become part of the Pakistan Navy, and the commissioning of PNS Hebat will take place later this year.
