
The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) has issued an audit report in which financial irregularities worth billions of rupees have been revealed in 17 departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) on Monday.
According to the details, the AGP has said in his report that irregularities amounting to PKR 45.53 billion have been revealed in the government departments of the province.
The AGP report reveals that the Power and Energy Department committed irregularities worth PKR 5 billion – followed by the Transportation Department [PKR 4 billion] and Department of Interior [PKR 1.60 billion].

Furthermore, the Agriculture Department and Health Department have been reported of committing irregularities worth PKR 290 million and PKR 1.55 billion respectively.
Unavailability of record by provincial departments, purchase of cars, unnecessary expenditures, overpayments and misuse of authority and incentives have been termed as the reasons behind the irregularities.
