Air India passenger found dead with seatbelt still fastened after flight lands

A passenger was found dead onboard an Air India flight (AI2845) after the plane landed in Lucknow from Delhi on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Asifullah Ansari.

After the flight landed at Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 8.10 am, the crew members tried to establish contact with the passenger but did not get any response. Doctors present on the flight examined the passenger and declared him dead.

The passenger had not unfastened his seatbelt, indicating that he had died midair.

The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the postmortem report is released. Meanwhile, the police have started a thorough investigation into the matter.
