Following the resignation of Hafiz Farhat Abbas, Punjab government has appointed Ali Salman Siddique as new chairman of TEVTA on Tuesday.

According to reports of Baaghitv, Ali Salman Siddique, who is the son of a renowned bureaucrat Salman Siddique who has served on various posts during his career spanning 35 years including his posting as Chief Secretary Punjab, has been appointed as new chairman of TEVTA (Technical Education and Vocational Authority) Punjab.

Hafiz Farhat Abbas was appointed as chairman of TEVTA, four months ago in April. His appointment caused rifts in ruling party as many criticized his appointment as chairman. A citizen, Amna Malik has filed a complaint against his selection as Chairman TEVTA, raising questions regarding his educational qualification, process of selection and his experience for this post. In the application, it was also mentioned that his selection was violation of Supreme Court orders in which the process for selection was clearly mentioned.
