Ali Zafar Harassment Case: Arrest warrants for Meesha Shafi

Lahore, 20th October: A petition made by the singer Meesha Shafi against Ali Zafar has been rejected.

According to reports, the court rejected the petition to stay the proceedings on the contempt claim of singer Meesha Shafi.

Lahore Session’s Court Judge Yasir Ali heard Meesha Shafi’s plea. The Additional Sessions Judge has rejected Meesha’s defamation suit and has summoned her witnesses on October 27.

It may be recalled that singer Meesha Shafi had requested at the last hearing to stay the proceedings on the claim till the decision on the cybercrime FIR is taken.

Meesha was of the view that the witnesses are scared of the registration of the case, therefore the proceedings on the defamation suit filed by Ali Zafar should be stopped till the decision of the case filed by the FIA is decided.

On the other hand, Ali Zafar, while appealing to the court, had said that Meesha Shafi was using delaying tactics, only five witnesses were named in the case, so the court should reject her application and complete the proceedings on the contempt claim.

Singer Ali Zafar has filed a claim for Rs 1 billion against Meesha Shafi for sexual harassment.
