Lahore, 20th August: Pakistan’s pop singer Ali Zafar’s lawyer Ambreen Qureshi has given a befitting reply to the organizers of the ‘Aurat March’.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, Barrister Ambreen Qureshi gives a clear-cut answer in response to the #MeToo movement against the singer Ali Zafar.

Ambreen Qureshi who is a Chairperson of Human Rights & Women Empowerment in Lahore High Court Bar has written a letter to the President of the Aurat March in regards to the Pride of Performance Award given to Ali Zafar.

The letter is written in response to sexual harassment allegations against the singer-actor Ali Zafar, stating that there is no case in court against him.
The letter by barrister Ambreen Qureshi states, “The complaint of sexual harassment by Ms. Shafi has been dismissed by the Punjab Ombudsman followed by the Governor Punjab, and eventually by the Lahore High Court.”

She further wrote, “The so-called Defamation case by Meesha Shafi has also been stayed by the court till the decision of Ali Zafar’s defamation case of 100 crores against her is decided. Therefore, there is no question of any pending cases against Ali Zafar.”
Ambreen Qureshi reiterates in her letter that they urge the media and anyone reading such irresponsibly written statements to not fall prey to any such deception and defamatory narratives without checking facts.

The statement by Ali Zafar’s lawyer has come after the singer has been awarded the prestigious award of Pride of Performance by the Government of Pakistan. Some critics have been raising questions on awarding him with such an honor.
