Lahore, 2nd October: Following are the remarks of the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations Ambassador Munir Akram on the occasion of Chinese National Day. Ambassador Zhang Jun, Dear Colleagues, Good Afternoon, Xiawu Hao, 1- I wish to thank you, my brother, Ambassador Zhang Jun, and your colleagues in the Mission for hosting this reception. 2- China and Pakistan are old and trusted friends and strategic partners. Our relationship is based on sovereign equality, non-interference in each others’ internal affairs and mutual respect. 3- Pakistan’s relationship with its “iron brother” is unbreakable. It will go from strength to strength in future. 4- China is an old civilization but a modern country.
