Amrullah Saleh has fled Afghanistan: Zabiullah Mujahid
Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid has claimed that the former Afghan vice president Amrullah Saleh has fled the country.
According to details, while speaking at a press conference, Zabiullah Mujahid said that the Taliban wished to talk, however, the resistance front gave a negative response which led to a fight. When speaking of former Afghan vice president Amrullah Saleh, the Taliban spokesman said that he (the former vice president) had fled to Tajikistan with Panjshir commanders in two planes yesterday.
Reports state that Saleh left the country only a day after he stated that the Panjshir-based opposition against the Taliban would always protect the Afghan citizens’ rights. The former vice president stated he would never give in to the Taliban.
It is to be noted that former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani also fled the country.
The former VP took to Twitter to relay how the people of Panjshir were faring under the Taliban regime. As it stands, Panjshir is one of the last hotbeds of resistance against the Taliban in the war-torn nation.
