The space agency said that the asteroid, called 2018VP1, has a 0.41 percent chance of hitting the Earth – and could strike on November 2.
Asteroid 2018VP1 is very small, approx. 6.5 feet, and poses no threat to Earth! It currently has a 0.41% chance of entering our planet’s atmosphere, but if it did, it would disintegrate due to its extremely small size.

The asteroid is about 6.5 feet in diameter and was first identified in California’s Palomar Laboratory in 2018.
Paul Chodas, director of Nasa’s Centre for Near-Earth Studies, said: “It’s really cool to see a small asteroid come by this close because we can see the Earth’s gravity dramatically bend its trajectory.”
