An inquiry to be launched for the PIA Plane seized in Malaysia
Lahore, 17th January: An inquiry has been ordered in the case of the PIA plane that was impounded in Malaysia on Friday.
Baaghi TV: According to the reports, an inquiry against engineering, flight ops and corporate planning in the case of PIA plane that was seized at the Kuala Lumpur Airport has been launched.
According to reports, investigations have been launched against 3 PIA officers.
Earlier, it was reported that the Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan blamed the previous government for getting two Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft on an expensive lease.
Talking to media on Saturday, Ghulam Sarwar Khan disclosed the planes were acquired by the PML-N government in 2015 on such an expensive lease that the national carrier failed to pay on time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sources say that the inquiry that is soon to be conducted will also reveal who bought the faulty, obsolete and expensive aircraft.

Lucman disclosed that the purchase of the faulty aircraft took place during the tenure of the former prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif. The person involved in such a transaction was Shujaat Azeem who had the patronage of Nawaz Sharif and still does.
Sources also reveal that Shujaat Azeem has a company named ‘Royal Airport Charter’, which has been provided with many benefits.
Now the inquiry will unveil how many unlawful contracts and favours were given to this company.
People have demanded that the government should complete the inquiry immediately and bring forward the facts soon.
It is pertinent to note here that the PIA plane which was seized at the Kulal Lumpur airport on Friday was taken on lease from a Vietnamese company in 2015.
Earlier, it was reported by Baaghi TV that the Malaysian authorities had seized the PIA’s Boeing 777 on Friday for non-payment of its lease dues.
A Malaysian court directed to confiscate the aircraft from KL International Airport with passengers on board.
