GENEVA: The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Gabrius, has said the world should better prepare for the next epidemic.

The WHO chief also called on countries to invest in the health sector. According to the British news agency Reuters, since the first corona case was reported in China in December 2019, the number of people infected with corona globally has risen to more than 27 million, with 890,000 deaths.

The head of the WHO told a news briefing in Geneva on Monday that Corona would not be the last outbreak. History teaches us that epidemics are a fact of life, but the world must be prepared for the next epidemic. Must be more prepared than now.

According to a foreign news agency, in the last 24 hours, 90,802 new cases have been added in India, which is a new world record for the number of cases reported in a single day.

The number of victims has risen to 4.2 million, with India becoming the second largest country in the world in terms of number of cases, leaving Brazil behind.

Medical experts say parts of India are facing a second wave of corona and the increase in the number of cases is due to an increase in the number of tests and easing of restrictions on the movement of people. The death toll from 969 corona deaths in India has risen to 71,642 in the last 24 hours.

The number of people infected with Corona in the United States is 6,296,629. So far, 189,144 people have been killed. Brazil is now the third most affected country by the Corona virus, with 4,137,000 infected and 126,650 dead.
